Those are awesome! I especially like the last pic of the little one on the big snail. That's so cute!

Have you ever eaten one a'la escargots? I love escargots, and I always thought that giant snails like those might be a real treat.

Ive never tried escargots, giant snails are sold as food in the UK, in Brixton Market in London huge Archachatina marginata and Achatina achatina are sold live, they can carry rat lung parasite though, which can cause meningitis in people who eat infected snails that are undercooked.

Do you have to keep those pretty warm? Unfortunately, as you know, they are illegal in here in the US and I don't think that is going to change. They look pretty interesting.

Some of my species has additional heating, they are all kept in a warm room though, I dont know why Archachatina species are illegal in the US, as they're completly different to Achatina species (fulica) that caused the problem there, because of Achatina fulica it seems all Giant Snails (even Megalobulimus, South American Snails) are now illegal there.
Archachatina species of snail only lay a few massive eggs at a time, that can take upto 2 months to hatch, so it would take a whille for them to get overrun.

Yea, ...I don't know. If something goes wrong with an animal that's imported in the US, they just throw a blanket on top of everything. They really don't spend a whole lot of time picking and choosing what would be safe if it doesn't contribute to the economy much...like bug stuff. So much goes on in the import business, I guess it's the safest thing to do.

They need to make more of an effort here to distinguish because this is so correct. It makes me so upset that they are all illegal. I have wanted some giant snails since I was 7. Too bad for me though. :(
