So I’ve kept a couple of hissers for almost a year now and a few days ago I decided it was time for a colony so I bought around 30 nymphs and have a few questions….

what size container do I put them in once they get very large?

how often do I feed a colony?

and what to do if my 2 adult roaches breed and I get too many hissers?

Haha check my roach threads hissers are pretty much the exact same care , just you need a roach climbing barrier .
10 gal is what I’d house them in but anything will do.
If you get too many hissers pm me .
I can just find them somewhere else if needed nevermind that’s only if your swamped with these things .
don’t euthanized them like so many people do and then they wonder why roaches cost So much.
You can also search 🔍 the site for hisser care

Yeah, 3-4" vaseline barrier around the top so they stay off the lid and don't run out when you open it. They aren't that fast to breed, but they do get big quick. You can keep the males and females separately, and only introduce a male to one female or something if you want to control breeding. You can leave food in always or feed every few days, they'll start getting antsy if they are hungry or out of water, I notice right away by how they act, they start rustling around. You can also regulate breeding rate with temperature. Leave food in there and keep at high 80's, they'll go off.
