Hello everyone! My western black widow egg sac just hatched 3 days ago. Im going to separate about 6 of them into individual deli cups to raise, and then release the rest back into the woods where i originally found their mom (they are native to my area, Southern California, and are at risk of being pushed out by brown widows so i feel this is a good idea, but if not please let me know!) My question is if anyone knows when its safe to start feeding the babies flightless fruitflies? Should I wait until their first molt? They are so tiny and slow right now, and i dont want to harm them, but i want to make sure they are healthy and fed well, especially the ones i plan to keep. Any advice would be welcome! I got my current set up info from Jack Of All Clades on YouTube. Thank you!

I'd imagine prekilled prey should work fine, especially to start out. FFFs should also be fine. Good rule of thumb, prey should be a bit smaller than the T so as long as your Ts cephalothorax and abdomen together are larger than the prey. Then you are good to go. IME prekill is the way to go, idk how you do that to FFF w/out making a pancake though.
