advantages/disadvantages

the pros are you don't have to incubate the egg sack by yourself.

the cons are when the spiders hatch, you'll have to catch A LOT of tiny tiny spiders.
that's all I can think of.

Thank you, has anyone done both personaly and can give first hand what they thought were pros and cons?

Pros:More natural, No need for artificial incubation
Cons: Chance of eggsac consumption, Hard to tell if sac goes bad.

As far as I'm concerned a sack should be left with the mother unless she is not taking care of it.
Particularly for slings that are known to be delicate, such as most Avicularia. I think the babies are stronger for it, we have done that with our last two sacks and didn't any deaths

Thanks Mina, I have been looking for a male for my A. avic and I think I will leave that sack with her.
