Hello! I have two hissing cockroaches that I recently just got this year. I noticed today that my female is much paler than my male. She was not like this yesterday. I read that adults do not molt. So I am slightly concerned. Her exoskeleton seems pretty strong and not too soft. Is this normal?

Yeah Im pretty sure its just molting, I have a colony of wide horn hissers and Ive never heard of a cockroach just turning white on its own without molting

hissers get bigger than that, especially the males. Also, I would not be poking it or anything for several days to let the new exoskeleton harden.

The big one on the cork molted about 7 hours ago. If you don't see a large wispy paper thin "corpse" in their enclosure then you might need to feed them. They don't let the molts go to waste if they are hungry.

Everything is normal, she just molted, don't worry.
