ackies? where can i get 2?

well im kinda wanting a lizard. and i belive an ackie fits the bill. but heres the delema, where can i get 2 of them? i hear they do best in pairs.

also how many olor forms are there. id personally like either a normal or a yellow.

and exactly how big do hey get? all i found was roughly 24 inches.

please lendme some more info on where to get these awsome lizards.

Red and Yellows are the only two you'll find in America. Their is another subspecies, Varanus acanthurus insulanicus, but it is not in America. If you want two, wait until October and I should have a few hatching then. My adult breeders are all less than 24". They are one of my favorite monitors (probably why I keep them). I think they are a great choice for a monitor pet. They can be kept individually, but if you ever want to breed them, it will be much harder if they weren't raised with other ackies. You won't find and exact size for them since there quite a large amount of variation. Eventually they'll probably show to be more than 3 subspecies (they are considered to possibly be a species complex at this time). Careful on what you buy too. There are a bunch of people selling reddish colored "yellow ackies" for the same price as red ackies. The subspecies are not always easy to differentiate at first. Yellow ackies are about $50 to $100.00 cheaper than reds.
