About this time of the year I find what I suspect are Achaearanea tepidariorum around the yard. I always keep one during their season. Their behavior is much like a widow, just a bit more timid. If you feed them colorful prey such as some caterpillars, their bodies will "take on" the color of their prey.
Here she is in the "wild" before I collected her...
These pics arent too good because I'm shooting thru a jar, but you can see that she is as green as the worm I fed her. This is the brightest example I've seen of this. The "worm" had very green inards. Curious to see how long this lasts.
Please correct my spider ID if I'm wrong. Relying on the internet for knowledge only gets you so far.
