I am currently keeping a number of P. audax & P. regius in my garage, but it's not very well insulated and I'm worried as winter rolls in that it will get too cold for them. It hasn't dropped below 68° in the garage yet, but I'm sure it will. I'm in Oregon kindasorta near PDX if that info helps.

What ambient conditions are worrisome for my spoods? I'm prepared to bring them inside temporarily if necessary (though my other 2-legged housemates won't like it).

Bring them inside. If you want to keep them alive.

in an enclosure, they won’t hibernate like they would in the wild. It will freeze/dessicate them.

spiders before mates 🤪💪🏻

im sure your housemates will understand when you explain to them that they dont bite and dont breed like yellow sack spiders.

well there is your arguement: you already have yellow sac spiders in the house and their bite can be bad.

Can you be more specific at what temp ranges I need to consider bringing them inside? My "bedroom" is in the garage as well, and it is far easier to care for them out here. I'd even be willing to set up a heat mat or two if that helps? I'd prefer to keep the in-house period(s) as short as possible. Thanks in advance!

If you can keep it above 70, without going to 80, you should be fine. Heat mats arent ideal, but it can work if you have a thermostat. Side of enclosure.
If your enclosures arent too big, you could create a micro climate by putting them in some sort of insulate foam bottom case. Like they use for hunting.

or even an aquarium. Something to prevent cold breezes. Could be a lunch box or cooler, opened of course.

these spiders are used to temperature drops at night as well.

This, mid 70s is perfect, the garage might be too cold for them at some point without a space heater or something. I'd say probably 65F to 85F is the full range but thats just a guess.

Edit: to specify, I'm basing the guess on when i see wild p. audax outside, as they are native here.

My house never gets above 69°F, or below 67°F year round, & I haven't had a spider not thrive (except that Seladonia, but I think there were other factors involved).

My collection of spoods are in the garage - mostly our native audax but also 2 CB regius my partner bought me ;)
