I just recently got a A.geniculata and iv noticed it is very very slow and doesn't move often in her tank.
All my other T's walk/run from hand to hand when i hold them but she will just sit in the palm of my hand. And when she does move its at a supper slow pace. Is something wrong with her or is this just the way they are?

Iv never had one, and i'm used to quicker T's so is this odd??

They are generally quite slow walkers, just DON'T blow on her or breathe heavy near her or talk loudly near her!!!! You will soon see her speed if you do lol .

I haven't been able to get an accurate LS measure but will try later, she is roughly the 8" mark.

Thankyou for the compliments on my T :)

I can't comment, since my big A.genic apparently thinks she's a S.calceatum or something....."fast and jumpy" can't even begin to describe her.

I hear ya. I would never attempt to handle ours. He's about 3". Whenever I shine the light into his enclosure to check on him, he turns and hits the side pretty hard and throw a pretty mean threat display. Mackenzie is definitely going to be the one packing him up when he matures and has to be sent away, that's for sure.

I've noticed that they take a lot to molt. They'll be really fat and you'll think "there's no way that he'd eat, he has to be in premolt" and then he attacks the tweezers like he hasn't eaten in years. It's the same with our A. brocklehursti sling. I'm afraid our genic is going to pop if he eats anymore. We barely feed him too because he's so fat...we gave him a tiny cricket the other day because he hadn't been fed in about a month, and he ate it! He better be in premolt now...crazy guy.

my Genic is a fiesty one. wouldn't dare hold her as she thinks anything that enters her tub is food and therfore will attack it and once she realizes it not food she kicks hair at me and gives a real nasty threat display. i'm sure she'd bite me if i were to mess up.

I'm just glad she's female and i don't have to worry about having to try and pack her up is she were male. She's 6" of eight legged fury somedays. i have less trouble from my OBT...OBT is fast and skittish but not ready to get me like she seems to be.

here's a pic of my beast...(sorry for the pic being a bit washed out)

she's fiesty but i really like her...so she's staying here
