I think my little P. irminia slings might be nearing a molt this month. They're all still very plump and last they were fed was Thursday of last week. Think they still have some premolt left, though. They're no where near sluggish; dart down their burrow when their deli cups are moved even a little.

Let's see how accurate my assumption is or if this grasshopper still needs to hone in on her skill. :p :D

P.irminia are amazing. My favorite arboreal so far. You will love them when the get bigger, violent eaters. My girl never reuses a meal unless she is in premolt. They are fast growers too!

I hope they all come out of their molts with beautiful colors!

Looks like I was just over a week off but two of my P. irminia molted sometime last night - Nike and Speedy. I went to show my Dad Nike's molt and as I was walking into the livingroom with it, the ceiling fan blew it right off my hand! :wall: I still have Speedy's molt which I'm saving for pictures and a future shadow frame I'll get once one of the tarantulas reaches the ultimate molt. I'll mount the molts inside from latest to earliest to hand over the critter area of my room. :D :)

Pics coming soon! Little fuzz-butts dove into their burrows when I opened the lids, but I managed to mist some water in there before leaving them alone. Fangs are still a blood red color so no prey for tonight.

Got anything new lately WARPIG; PM me!? :D

Awesome! For the two I mentioned, this will be their 4th instar if I remember right at what stage their breeder said they were. I'm currently looking at GBB, A. minatrix, singepore blue or H. maculata slings next. Haven't chosen which one yet but I have 4 empty deli cups for the babies I choose.

Good to see the slings are molting too!!! They only get faster, and more cantankerous as they get bigger....you'll be thinking over those names: "Nike," "Speedy," and "PITA" in the near future!!! ;P

Nothing wrong with any of those choices!!! GBB should be an obvious choice for any collection, and anything Avic is cool in my book. Don't have any experience with Singapores, but I do know H. macs are insanely fun. {D

How about Pokies? Both of mine are actually calmer than my P. irminia. They just happen to have one of the worst bites in the hobby.

Sweet. I have 3 3rd instar P. irminia myself, all in premoult right now. (From spyder 1.0 there, actually :p)

They are indeed voracious eaters, accepting food even just a few hours before their previous moult!
I can't wait 'till they are bigger.... should be a good show by then. How long do these guys take to reach adult size?

Cancel that!! I got a really good deal just tonight that I just could NOT pass up - one P. cambridgei and 3 A. versicolor for under $25!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOO.... oh boy I wonder if my mom will open the box again this time.. All well, worth getting chastised over. :D

Now I'm going to need more containers for juvies.....

WooHoo is right!!!! That's a hell of a deal!!! I paid that much for only one 1/2" versi sling, and a 3/4" C. fasciatum. I don't quite feel so bad when I remember that I got my P. irminia for free with that order. But that's still a hell of a deal you got, and one VERY well worth the chastising.

My versi is my favorite. I've handled her since day one, and she's been nothing but a doll. I eventually want a P. cambridgei. Unfortunately, I still have to track down a GBB and a C. elegans first...maybe an A. purpurea.

Opposite here. My dad seems mildly interested in them. He even went through the effort of finding his glasses (takes quiiiite a while. Never puts things away in the same spot..) so he could actually see the little molt. Still haven't located the blown away Nike's molt. hehe!

Well she didn't react too bad when I said I ordered 5 instead of the agreed one. {D
