Has anyone here dealt with them before? My question is the brood of babies is beginning to wander slightly and seem to have a little color. How much color should they actually have before I separate them from the mom? They're not pure white like a little while before. They're sort of a light tan with slightly darker color on the heads.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Have you seen them molt? Basically about 30 days after they "hatch" they should molt and start to disperse. Once they have that molt you should see some noticable color differences from when they were first born. It's at that point that you can start to seperate them and feeding them on their own. Unfortunately, this is just book learned information as I haven't had the pleasure of being a pede dad yet :(

Thanks for the info

Hey Scott. Thanks for the info. I haven't seen them molt yet. I don't know how long ago they even hatched because I was still out on tour. I'll keep a very close eye on them though. I think I need to get Carl Sandefer's book here pretty soon.
Later.
