My son's little G.Rosea sling. We have actually had it about 13 months now and here is his size now after a molt about 6 days ago.
LOL-man I knew they were slow but c'mon!

In all fairness to the little guy/girl, it was about 1/2 the size of a grain of rice when he came home with us last summer. "He" does eat really well too,____ for now anyway:rolleyes:

On a slightly diff & larger note, I have a few T's in premolt now and can't wait to see how they turn out! One of my L. Parahybana females, my newest P.Cancerides and my little Aphonopelma sp. New River all have the black shiney bum and have been refusing food for about a week now. The waiting begins.....:wall:

Those are rosies for ya.
Yep. When we brought him home, we actually had 4 total and slowly lost the others one by one. At least this one survived and is at a size now it actually looks like a tarantula and not something we picked up out of the yard.

aphonopelmas grow slow also.
i had a few of those itty-bitties (rosie and aphonopelma ), seemed like they grow in slow motion - but they are worth it.
i never held my itty-bitties (they just look to much like a house spider to me)
but when they start looking like a t ...
of course the only t i ever actually picked up and held was my mm g.rosea

Haha aren't they fun? I have a A. bicoloratum. It's about a 9 months old now and it molted twice. My G. rosea sling just molted this week and she grew a stunning 1/8" :p

ah be you ever so lucky. I've had my group of 5 A. seemani spiderlings for well over a year now and they are JUST now coming up on 3/4" in size. That's half an inch of growth in 16 months. I know Aphonopelma's are slow, but 've had other Aphonopelma species that grew faster than these seemani's. lololol

I think that if anything, it's growing pretty quickly for a G rosea. I have an Aphonopelma sp. "Huachua" that is supposedly more than 2 and is smaller than that. Of course they're dwarfs so...

Just keep feeding that sucker, keep it warm and it'll get there by the time your son hits college.

lol

I got a G. aeuriostrata (spelling) a few months ago, and it is about 1/4 inch...This little thing eats more than a lot of t's do for its size though.

Yeah - I bought several G.aureostriata's from an AB member. They are one of my fave T's now. After having them for about 4 months, I was chatting with the breeder and I found out that they were a year older than I had thought they were - lol. I thought they were about 4-5 months old (based on size) and I found out that they were a year and a half old. YIKES!
Has anyone tried speed-feeding Grammostola species? I haven't heard of any results from trying this.

I was given a rosie sling. It was about .5" when I got it. I gave it away FOUR years later and it was MAYBE .75...

Actually, that thing has grown pretty fast!

Some B. albos were about that size at the 1.5 year mark in my hands.
