Just sharing with you a few pics of an adult male of Mecynorhina ugandensis a local butterfly house gifted me today since they had no females left and their exibition is closed for late autumn and winter. He's a tiny one, but a cute critter nonetheless!

The lil lad in question. This species is chromatically incredibly variable.

Along with the color, the velvety texture of the body is one of my favorite feature of these critters.

That group if beetles is so impressive. I am also a huge fan of their velvety colors. really impressive!
