A very good and very cheap sexing tool

Hey everyone. I just recently aquired a 60-100x mini microscope from edmond scientific and found it has become a pretty useful device in my t room. Cost 14 buck plus shipping. I tried it one night for the heck of it on a molt i retrieved from my early instar 1.5" haplopelma hainanum and found her spermathecae. It uses light comming from the side of the unit at a angle which makes it perfect for finding under developed spermathecae that hasnt darkened yet.

I bought mine from radio shack for $10 last year.

And yes its very helpful. Heres some shots. I don't use the included light as it sucks. Instead i place subjects on top of a flourescent lamp and view that way.

It's Amazing what a pair of prescription glasses, and a descent Microscope
can open up for your eyes.

My Buddy has this Army Microscope.....from his time there.....and you can go "Into" the canyons/grooves of your hands, and see Everything.

I just use his for tarantula purposes........I don't know what else I'd do......Take a lab class, or
start to market one.
