We'll my versi hasnt eaten for a 2 weeks, most obvious signs of premolt. But he is 3.5" and also molted a month ago maybe lil longer, but i saw him today using his fangs to cut holes in his nice webbing he has made. I have never witnessed it really, i have read threads on it thought. Its strange because he made 2 holes and would go through one and then go through the other going from rightside up to upside down and repeat it quite a few times. I was just curious if they sometimes rip apart their web when they are in premolt?

It could be that your A. versicolor is just being an A. versicolor. A fast doesn't necessarily mean premolt, and sometimes they'll tear apart their webbing to remodel.

lol alright im glad he's being a versicolor, this is the first ive seen with him remodeling his webbing. Pretty sure he's premolt, he's acting about the same as last time before premolt. Im excited these are truly a beautiful species.

Can u tell me how is her being liek?, i have an avic and i think she is in pre molt, but since i got her last week and hasnt eaten, she made a closed web and i had to destroy it unfortunatly 3days later, it has been other 3 days from when i rehoused her, i had a cricket in there for about 48h, she hasnt webbed again yet and is just on top side glass of the enclosure and is barely moving. I saw her moving much when i got her (1st days) at night when i was in the PC and turned all the lights out.

Well first he doesnt want to eat crickets, i have givin him lots of crickets he didnt eat. I noticed mine starts to act really slow before a molt since i have only had spiders for like 5 months really so i thought he was sick or something. also i noticed he was moving his fangs around (not cleaning them) which to me at the time was strange. usually when i hold him he moves around alot this time he just sits there not moving. Thats all i can remember really.. this is just my view on my avic, yours will probably do other things im not sure so asking more experienced people would be a good idea.

i identified with mine the crickets , the handling, and being really slow moving/a bit inactive. I just found her makin another web at the same place that was the other. she is kinda stopped in the position of webbin. she had frozen or smthin LOL.Well she wont die from starving so... lets see what happens =) Lets see which type of webbing is coming here.

And ty very much for that "report"- =) i appreciated it =) hope to see her molting soon as she is fat and 2" =)

Your welcome on the report, im no means of an "expert" but that is some of the things i have personaly observed. Yes she is probably making a molting mat. Ive noticed they like to make hammocks to lay on, thats probably where she will be molting. Mine has completly webbed the whole container including the lid down. I noticed him at the bottom for the first time in a while. He's continued with tearing apart with his webbings. I will post pictures of him right before molt and then after. You should do the same, i will be looking forward to seeing it. Read up about molting if you dont know much, searched this site and others. ;)

ya get you, its a little hard because of your english but its understandable. We'll just remember the tarantula knows what its doing, its not gonna starve so go with the flow and dont worry. They have such amazing colors after a molt! I thougth my avic was getting ready to molt last night, he was doing funny things. so i sat there for like an hour watching him but nooooo not yet.
