I know the chances of being able to get a positive ID on this T is slim to none, but I'm just looking for ideas of what it could be.

It was sold as a B. vagans.
The T is around 2.5"-3", and I still don't see any red hairs on the abdomen. My other vagans I believed had the red setae at 1"
These pics are just a couple days after the last molt.

+1 Does not look like a Vagans. Vagans have their red hairs at 1.5" even though they are not fully black yet.

1.5"

2.5" Right after 12-21-09 molt

I'm pretty sure it's not a B. vagans. How ever the T is growing around the same rate as my vagans did. So I'm eliminating the slower growing species from the possibilities.

Photo I.D. is nearly impossible with most specimens, but it looks a bit like a B. albopilosum. Good luck with your quest for identification.

Talon, both of my Vagans molted around the same time as yours. First one molted early in Dec, 2nd one molted sometime between the 23rd-26th. Kind of interesting. :D

I do, and I don't see LP. The only thing that seems to be missing is the shaggy hairs. I think it's the closest to being a match so far though. Plus LPs are pretty common.
Here's an LP, so maybe next molt the T in question will look more like this. I'll keep every one updated.

It doesn't look like a brachy to me, however, it reminds me of a juvenlie Phormictopus cancerides. What is the temperment like?

I would say it's semi skittish, at a medium speed, but non-defensive or aggressive depending on how you want to look at it. It would much rather flee than rear up. Also it does burrow, but than again a lot of Ts burrow at that size.

I did do a search for LPs on photobucket, and I found some photos of LPs with the darker coloration at that size. The majority had the lighter colors, which is what I was familiar with. So it could just be a color variation in slings/juvies.

I got a reply back from the dealer, and it is an LP. He believes that the cups got mixed up during a feeding. No biggie really, the B. vagans was just part of a package deal he had going. He said that he will add a freee 2.75"+ B. vagans to my next order.

The Hatain Brown was a good guess though. The T does have almost a blue hue to it, which for me originally blocked out the idea it being an LP.
