Here we have a gorgeous specimen of Mecynorhina (Megalorhina) harrisi eximia, haroldi form. To be precise, this is a very well-endowed (horn-wise!) male.
Though this species can't reach the size of some of the more famous members of its tribe (Goliathini, which also includes the goliath beetles), their males' horns and higly variable colors and patterns are hard to match! Like most (but not all) members of Goliathini, M. harrisi is an African beetle and can be found in Congo, Cameroon, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
