I bought half a dozen crickets about 2 weeks ago. I was going to feed them to my spiders, but they both recently under went a change of substrate and both got new flowerpots to hide in so I put off feeding them for a while to avoid stressing them out. I looked in the crickets' cage the other day and there were twice as many! So I was just wondering, approximately how long does it take for crickets to reproduce? Also, should I feed the spiders now to keep all of the crickets from killing eachother before they can be entrees, because even though there's plenty of meal and gel water, I've still noticed a couple of dead ones. Any advice anyone?

crickets take a while to grow up, they can reproduce pretty quick but they would be at most ~5mm and i normally decant my crickets into 3 tubs i get around 100+ in a tub i think and aslong as there is food the shouldnt kill each other.
saying that i had one tub where they didnt touch the lettuce, cucumber or anything and ate each other, plenty of room, sub adults... just ate each other

gross

Mine still have plenty of food, but I think several more are dead.
I was going to feed the spiders on Thursday, but ended up having to move unexpectedly. Just as well, as my former room mates were jerks. Have decided the only appropriate room mates for me are tarantulas, though I detest keeping their food alive for long periods of time. Thanks for the input.
Please excuse me for posting in the wrong forum, I should have taken the time to scroll down the main page as I had forgotten there was a forum for insects and other invertebrates. Won't happen again.
