First off, I know Poecilotheria pretty well. I have 31 and several different sp. If you decide to handle a hot sp. like this, be ready to deal with the worst.

This is one of my female regalis. I have another female that is noticeably bigger but has webbed herself up, hopefully to make an egg sack.

Here we go.

Slightly blurry. Camera in one hand, big t in the other. You probably understand.

No you perverts. That's my arm.

LIghts out.

She left little "claw" marks in my arm. Pretty hefty t. I'm out.

Awesome pictures, have you been handling it since it was a s'ling? Or is it just really tame?

Cheers,

Ben

I though I made it clear enough but ok. The hand and arm belong to a trained professional. Don't try this at home(or anywhere else).

Hey Ben. I'm not goping to re-hash the whole "aggressive" / "defensive thing since we all have many times before. In short Pokies tend to just want to hide, can run very fast and have a hot venom. In general they aren't bite crazy but when they do bite it's not fun at all.

I got this t about 4 months ago from a local guy and it has pretty much the same temperment as all of my other 30 Pokies.

They are not "dangerous" in any real sense of the word if by dangerous you mean "potentially lethal" (although I suppose there is a remote, remote possibility of it if you are otherwise weakened). However, if envenomated you can expect extreme pain, swelling, nausea, and a possibility of prolonged muscle cramps or spasms in the vincity of the bite for weeks to a couple of months.

Read this for an excellent bite report from Darrin (Golden Phoenix Exotica propietor and all around good member of the T community).

Nice pics!

Obviously you know more about poeci's than I do. I don't think I would be able to hold the one I have, this is just because I don't feel comfortable doing so. I think this is mainly due to how fast they can be.

You have a great looking regalis there. I haven't been able to fatten up my P. formosa like that, I guess I'll keep working at it.

Having 31, do you have every specimen of the species by now?

I guess Vayu Son is now my spokesmen. My list on ST is not quite up to date. No I don't own them all. I have:
fasciata
formosa
ornata
regalis
rufilata
