This was a nice way to end the night. My wife and I went over to our friend's house and came home with these:

Double tounge shot:

X2:

Cool shot:

Though I was able to get a cool shot (minus the glare from the flash of course) it was a bit of a pain wrangling this one loose:

Beautiful snakes, and not a species you often see in collections. I've only recently started to see some bredlei for sale at reptile shows, and even still most of the people who see them say, "oh, those are some nice Irian Jayas"! Hopefully more and more folks will start working with these, since I'd like to have a pair of Centralians myself some day.

Actually Bredl's are a lot more common than they used to be....I remember seeing them for 1k+ each years ago....I've seen babies in the $150-200 range in the past year. THey're not as popular as the other Carpets because of their larger size and relative lack of variability in color & patterns.

There are a couple morphs out with these as well. There is a striped and hypo line as well as all the mutts that are from mixing centralians with the jaguar lines. Too bad most Morelia fans aren't against making subspecific intergrades or hybrids in the case of the M. bredli. There are a few of us that are trying to keep subspecific lines. I think we're the minority though and there are plenty of arguments for either side of the debate.

nice pick ups!! one of my favorite species to work with. mine are really bitey which is rare from what im told. my 2 juvies should grow out of it but the 6ft + female is questionable.

I'm actually in need of a larger female, so if your bitey one needs a new home let me know. I'm sure she'll look like a puppy dog next to my scrubs.
