So, several days ago while unpacking a shipment I had a tiny T. purpureus sling bolt and disappear. Being about the size of a mosquito I figured it was lost for good until this morning when I found it, in of all places, the toilet! I was getting out of the shower when I just happened to notice something in the bowl. The funny thing is I had already flushed before my shower!

It traveled out of the kitchen, where it went AWOL, through the dining room, down the hall, and into the bathroom in a little less than 48 hrs and somehow ended up in the toilet, surviving at least one flush! Definately a Super Sling.

This is why you don't let little slings stay up late watching Arachnophobia! Puts things in their little brain stems. :embarrassed:

On a serious note, that is one lucky little fellow. You really have to name it!

Okay so I have a new "miraculous recovery" story to tell even better than the last one. The only other sling I've had go missing was a P. regalis juvenile that bolted during rehousing back in mid-July. She dashed behind the dishwasher never to be seen again..until today that is. I was OUTSIDE spraying off some lawn furniture with the hose to get it ready for storage. Suddenly a very large spider (for Michigan) ran out and scared the crap out of me. At first I thought it was an extra large wolf spider when I suddenly realized it was the missing Pokey! I don't know how she got out of the house but with the exception of a missing leg she looks very very heathly. I thought for sure she was dead but I am sure happy to have her back.

Actually we've been having a very mild September with no frost here yet--luckily.
