I am sending this along on behalf of Terry Cullen, a leading conservationist whose life has now been shattered both personally and professionally. Computer access is difficult and he is unable to send the message himself at this point in time. Please take a moment to hear what he has to say.
Thank you for your time,
Rex

To the herp community:
Near the end of the week I will be publishing an open letter to the herp community. My attorneys, whose standard operating procedure is to NOT allow their clients to contact the media, publish information, etc. until the legal proceedings are over, have quite simply forbid me to go public on any basis. You have no concept of how incredibly difficult this has been, especially in light of the outrageous conditions that have prevailed surrounding my case.
My letter may not do a lot to answer questions, but I felt that I could no longer sit without some contact with the community.
My final comments in this short note are as follows: 1. More than ever you need to band together & become seriously proactive--THIS COULD HAPPEN TO ANY ONE OF YOU! 2. Anybody remember the pictures of the 12 foot diamondback? Pretty convincing until you heard the story behind them.
I'm going to ask the kind folks on kingsnake to share this with other major herp sites. It is exceedingly difficult for me to get on to a computer.
My best to all,
Terry Cullen
