For school i have to right a paper on the history of animal laws in the United States. I've looked all over and cant find any good sources. Can anyone point me in the right direction or give me a link to a site for some good resources? Thank you in advance.

Here is a link to the US Fish and Wildlife Service's Endangered Species Program:

http://www.fws.gov/endangered/

Here is a another FWS link specifically on the 1973 Endangered Species Act (ESA) which I imagine will be a major component of your paper:

http://www.fws.gov/laws/lawsdigest/ESACT.html

Here is a link to the Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).

http://www.cites.org/

Although CITES is not a regulation itself, member countries such as the US must adopt domestic legislation (ESA in our case) to ensure that CITES is implemented.

Here are a few additional regulations that you can look into:

The Migratory Bird Treaty Act
The Eagle Protection Act
The Wild Bird Conservation Act

This information should definitely give you something to start with.
