A huge dilemma

As of this morning I've suddenly gained 2 spaces that need to be filled as I've just sold my Avic sp kwitara and my Avic sp pucallpa for almost 3 times what I paid for them. So I'm thinking an M robustum is coming soon to take 1 space because the more I see and read/hear comments about them the more I want 1. The dilemma however comes from the other empty space I've found an unsexed juvenile X immanis @£65/$110 but the problem is the breeder (well known) only as 1 left and won't post it because of rarity and potential loss which is fair so if I want it I'll have to drive 188 miles there and 188 miles back to collecr it. The 2nd tarantula that could fill the empty space is a M mesomelas sling around 1" it's 4 pounds more expensive but as the breeder is carrying more stock it can and will be posted, the problem with this however is they tend to be in general a little fragile in captivity. So you see my dilemma a truly ludicrous drive or I take a chance on a somewhat more fragile and rarer tarantula

A xenesis species for that price sounds like an absolute steal to me, I wouldn't hesitate to drive for it. Mesomelas is also very different in the conditions it needs, as they come from a very high cool elevation, so it may be harder to keep as you mentioned so I wouldn't take that chance if you're only getting 1 of the species.

I agree with Sharkan. I'm sure it will be a lovely drive there & back to get the immanis. From what I've read, they seem to be hardier than mesomelas.

M. mesomelas aren't that complicated I've had them cool and warm and done just fine. Keep it at all times moist and you'll be fine. I would get both to make your long drive worth your while.
