Hey James the shipment you sent me was NOT Blaberus Giganteus. I cant believe you sent me the wrong species! If you need my contact info you can look up what my shipment was back in November 2005.

My gallery

The photos being referenced in posts 13-14 on the thread you asked us to look at come from my gallery. In the comparision pic of the three roaches side by side I dont remember what the nymph was but the other 2 are a pure giganteus and a pure fusca. The ones in your pic actually look more like fusca than the hybrids to me. Fusca have a pattern more like |_| while giganteus is more __ no markings going up. The female fusca also tend to be darker than the males. Xelda's pic is also of a giganteus. Based on what I have brokered which includes over 500 giganteus I can tell you those roaches you bought based on the picture are not giganteus for sure I doubt they are hybrids I tend to think they are more Blaberus fusca but am not sure.

I know, they definetly are not giganteus. In all fairness yes the roaches arrived healthy, but in a way I got ripped off because they werent the species I ordered. :( Too bad I have no money to actually get a giganteus now.

Just curious - if you're so upset about getting the wrong species, why did you wait nearly a month to contact James about this? Who knows, maybe you tried to contact him some other way, but it's been almost a month since that last thread ended that you referenced. It seems to me that if a customer is unsatisfied with their product, they should contact the seller ASAP rather than sitting on your thumb for a month. And like I said, maybe you did try to contact him. If so, kindly disregard this post. :D

He was on vacation during the other thread, and as far as contacting him when I got the roaches November 05, I didnt know they werent the right species I ordered until I came on here in June 06, which was many months after I received them, so now it's too late for me to get a refund, or the right species. :( (I never saw a giganteus in person before I ordered my roaches so I had no clue what nymphs were supposed to look like)

I hope nobody has to go through what I went through and order something only to find out you were sent the wrong species, and get a huge dissapointment when someone tells you "oh that's not the species you thought you had." There goes my birthday money... :(

Those damn nymphs!

If he got them as nymphs he might not have been able to tell until they molted into adults whether they were giganteus or some other species. As an example a roach seller and breeder sent some nymphs that turned out to be discoids. The problem was they were supposed to have been peppered roaches. The person who received them couldnt tell until they molted into adults. In closing it can be harder to tell what species nymphs are compared to identifying adults. The one who received the discoids in lieu of peppered was a client of mine who related an experiennce she had with someone else.

roaches

This is the first I've ever heard of this. As someone mentioned I buy lots of roaches and I apologize if you somehow got the wrong ones. If you just emailed me I would have replaced them right away. Send me an email and I'll ship you new ones. Blaberus species look very similiar as nymphs and sometimes if I'm low I buy from other sources. Typically I keep them till I have adults but sometimes with species like giganteus that grow slower they sell before hand. This is also why I don't mix colonies. I have a group of gigantues that is good for sure and once again sorry for letting you get the wrong ones.
Regards,
James
