K i have a couple questions i got a male usambra from the recent spider party here in phoenix. First how long after male t molts into maturity does it spin its first sperm web, what does the web look like and how often does he make a sperm web??

It looks sort of like a lean-to type shelter of web.

Time varies, but I believe if you're planning on breeding you start checking for sperm webs after a few weeks. You need to get lucky because most Ts destroy them after they load up.

thanks code for that info in the pics im seeing it looks like they connect it from the ground to something in there tank like a wall or a hide or something, well mine might of already made one because there is a big build up of dirt and web right next to the wall that i dont normally see from other T's, hmm...

I have one more question for anyone that wants to answer it, after he charges his palps how long does it take before it goes bad and he has to make another sperm web?

Good question. I don't think anyone really knows the answer to that (although after a sucessful mating he would need to). Someone with a lot of breeding experience may be able to give some good educated guesses, though.

I know I have sucessfully bred a old male, 8-10 months after maturity that have produced slings. Usually within a week or so after it begins to eat again it will build a sperm web. Like Code said sometimes you will only see the traces of one because they tear it down soon afterwards. I'm not sure on how long it is "good though. If you want so lend him out after you are finished with him I have a big female that would like to meet him.
