does anyone here who lives in the eastern states want to do me a favor can someone catch me a cricket frog and send it to me for ten to twenty bucks we did some research and cricket frogs can live in the enviornment that the grow a frog habitat provides. they like shallow bodies of water with plant matter and perches so its perfect. if not even though she didnt really want it we will have to get her a fire bellied toad.

Wild-caught herps aren't the best idea in general, they tend to have parasites and many have problems adjusting well to captivity. For a children's pet, you should probably go ahead and get something nice and sturdy and captive-bred anyway. :)

Cricket frog? I am not sure but those might be the same thing we call peepers around here. The ones that sit there and chirp and chirp all dang night long. Problem is, where you find those you also tend to find snapping turtles, snappers get big around here. I for one would not risk my legs or hands tangleing with a snapper for a frog. Not even a 20 dollar frog.
