Keep an eye on it - but I'd say you got a molt coming. Has it been eating lately? My versicolor - about the same size - webs himself in like that for a week or 2 before molting.

Mine stayed in these 'tunnels' for literally 7-12 weeks in 'pre-moult'

It matured into a amle just a few weeks back

now that you mention it I have just looked in the cage for the cricket I put in on fri, and its still there, going to take it out, and give it to my rosea. I hope its a molt comming, would love to see that in real time and not in pics.

Thanks

May aswell yeah, though from my experience you'll have a long wait. Just mist it every day or so...

This spider will now be your official most boring spider though

Both my A. avics are different. They are about the same size but one likes to make a tunnel and the other prefers to stay on the side of the tank. I guess to each his own on this one but I think the tunnel provides a sense of security. Who knows.

my nephew's a. avic hasn't even made an attempt to make any tube web yet!
But she's still eating fine and everything and doesn't even seem stressed out...she even has all the opportunities (sp?) to make one.

I've had my sub-adult (male?) A. avic for about 6 months.
A few weeks ago he finally made a web for the first time,
then he molted and destroyed the web. Now he just hangs out
on the underside of the lid:?

re

you guys were correct. I woke up at around 6:45-7:00 ish, and low and behold it was half was out of its old skin. It was really neat to see, The theme song from "2001 a space oddessey" kept running through my head. Now its completly out, I hope it doesn't destroy the old skin. I ould love to see if its going to be female, but its prob still too small to tell.

Thanks Again for all the help guys/gals

I did get the shed from mine, but by that time, the abdomen
had dried up too much to tell the sex.
I was pretty sure it was male anyway, a friend looked at the T
for me:D
