I see those when I go pede, scorp, etc. hunting at night in W tx. They are big. I used to mistake them for T's but I can tell the difference now while in the car. Sorry, don't know the name of the wolfy. I used to. Just didn't pay much attention to it until recently. Just saying that I've seen them too. For me, they are the classic wolf spider if there would be such a thing. I even brought one back a couple of months ago and came soooo close to posting a picture of it but I didn't think it would be of interest. I was wrong. I kept it for a while. A very interesting "aware" spider. Pretty entertaining. They just never really caught my attention before. I think I will bring a couple back the next time I go to W. tx. If you can drive, drive down the county roads at night from 10 to whenever you're ready to go home. You will see more. Usually you will see some eye shine like a little diamond. I usually drive around til about 3 or 4 in the morning out there. I live in the Austin area and go out there about twice in the Spring and spend about three or four days at a time out there. The Border Patrol was getting suspicious of me last time. The biggest wolfy I've seen out there had about a 4 inch leg span
The spider looked allot like this:
