Very sad, a lot of hybridization can lead to extinction of these species. People take them and breed them in captivity, not knowing the true species. I hope the offspring can be viable. Makes me think if various captive T species are actually hybrids.

Side tangent: the man-made horror known as the sturddlefish

Theres no reason for them not too, aside of budget.

dna is dna.

i do believe you also think they should.

i just dont understand why else they dont.

there is money to be made with tarantula molting process, that regenerates members.

imagine if we had a tarantula board to certify species. There would be less “sp”.

its a disdain for arachnids in general that prolongs these researches. Less biologists in the field.

i, myself, would make a great tarantula biologist. But i cant sit in class to study physical education, philosophy (MEN BEING FED GRAPES WHILE DISCUSSING LIFE) and language. What a waste.

i identify plants better then my academic peers. I can identify birds by song better then 30 years experienced guides… i am still traumatized by having to provide photos of a bird i inventoried. It “was wrong period of year for region”. I was first to spot it at said location. The paper work i needed to provide…

but hey, i am worthless because i have bad grades 🥱

my hikes are fun though. Thats why i don’t do group hikes, even if i get asks. Go read a book eh.

Salamanders are on the top list of a balanced ecosystem.

if they are absent, where they are native, that says TOO much.

my friend found a really, “irelevant” to most, species yesterday in her driveway. I got really excited. Such a good sign for her home and ecosystem. Sure, they arent as cool as GIANT HELLBENDERS… but id take finding one anyday, over a snail.

i know where to find these little salamenders in their natural habitat and am happy they are in a protected area. They sure are ordinary and all, but nothing gets my adrenaline higher then turning over a log and finding more then three.
