this is my third month as a tarantula enthusiast, and my first attempt at taking pics. the first three are with my (very crappy) camera, and the last three are with my even crappier cell phone haha. my other four tarantulas i have yet to photograph, they include two very camera shy m. robustums, an l. parahybana sling, and a g. rosea that was incubating a sac so i decided not to disturb her. enjoy! and pointers would be great!:D

As your new to T's how you finding it with a poke? Thinking of getting one, are they as fast and aggressive as people say?

which one? i have a male g. aureostriata and a male m. robustum. neither are mature yet. but i have a pair of both the aureostriata's and the robustums, so i'm gonna try and mate those. but if that doesn't work i might as well...

well fast definitely, he is one quick little bastard. i had to rehouse him today and that was an adventure to say the least. he hasn't been aggressive yet though, only defensive. he's very quick to run away, but hasn't shown me any threat postures or tried to bite the various implements i use to prod him when i want him to move, (pencils, paintbrushes, straws... kind of whatever i find...). but yeah i would not want him to get on my skin. he's a blast to watch eat though, lightning quick speed. i saw him get a cricket by what can only be described as an aerial bomb. he was about 6 inches above the cricket as it ran around unsuspectingly on the substrate, and he just dropped on top of it. it was rad. :D
