3 rats Plus 1

if get a male rat tonight add it to my other rats which are two females and one male and the male rat is a full grown adult and the male rat i have now is not as big will they fight? or will they be ok?

The smaller rat is getting adopted tomorrow so he wont be in there much longer than 24 - 38 hours from now.

they shouldnt have to much of a problem but keep an eye on them

i have two that are partners in crime:cool:

define keep an eye on them? because i dont want holes in my hand from tryin to break up a fight...

well they should just sniff each other and if they get in a tiff i guess just break em up

use a stick, gloves, net, ect
what ever you want
but i doubt they will have issues:D

Male rats will fight if they didn't grow up together. You really can't get around it any other way.

If you're lucky, the males will fight for a few days and then be ok, but I've had cases where one male would just pick and pick at the others until I finally moved him to a new cage.

Housing males and females together? I hope one or both genders are fixed or you've got plans to deal with the inevitable result. :D

Also yes the males will almost certainly fight. If you're adding a new rat you should probably keep it in quarantine (seperate cage) ANYWAY before putting it in with existing pets.

Oh yea, I do have plans, im mixin them together to get the inevitable result so i can use the babies as food.

and if i ever get too many just freeze the rest thats all. Snakes never refuse left overs lol.. which is a great thing
