I'm getting a 3 compartment wooden cage this weekend, and would like to know what to put in it. The total dimensions of the cage are 3' x 1' x 1'. Each compartment is 1'x1'x1'. What herp would be good in that kind of space it's whole life. I was thinking about getting 3 crested geckos. Let me know.

Forgive me if this is too obvious - is it mesh or glass?

Cresteds are great, but a full grown one might need slightly larger tank since they are so active at night and jump all over the place. I can hear mine crashing around all night long:D

It's a wooden cage with I believe plexi-glass or glass doors. I'll take pictures of it once I actually get it. I was thinking it may be too small for cresteds. Alright any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Paul

I wanna say pygmy leaf chameleons but I'm not really sure if they need a bigger cage or not....I know they need a glass cage, though. Does it have to be reptiles? Maybe you could shell out the big bucks and get into dart frogs.

Internet says they do need a bigger one. Also I thought you couldn't keep chams in a glass tank because they can't handle the reflections? :?

Thanks, but I'd rather not do chameleons or dart frogs. Any other suggestions :wall:

Also this tank isn't glass, it's a wooden cage with plexi glass doors only.

The more I think about it, the more I'm not sure there IS any herp that can live in a space that small. :( Inverts sure, but herps may be another matter. Sorry dude.

Damn, looks like I'll just have to put a few of my T's in there. I could also use it as temporaray housing for baby/juvenile cresteds.

Not that exciting but what about those tiny litte geckos, house geckos or day geckos (whichever ones are the small ones I don't remember). Or anoles... would those work?
Oh also I have a couple mourning geckos, those are tiny, and fun to watch. I have two in a 5 gallon tank so I think you could do those as well if you wanted. They're all female in the species though so if you get mourning geckos they will randomly pop out eggs and you'll have a bunch of babies. I love mine though. :)

Where is the ventilation in these cages? Lots of cool small geckos that would fit in that space.
