Ok so I went to the pet store last night to get pin heads for the versicolor slings I got earlier that day. And they also got in a new rosea, I had just bought the last one they had, which was my MM. But this one is a MF, (now have 2 MF roseas) and I got her because I felt bad for her, she had been sprayed, and living in the deli cups they keep them in. There was enough water in there to kill the large cricket they gave her to eat, and there was water on her and every time she stepped in the water she would pick the foot up and try to like shake the water off her.

I told them that they like it very try and she was bugging out. So after they put her in a container to take her home in, she took a back leg and seemed to be trying to get the water off of it with her mouth, and the guy saw it and thought something was wrong with her leg and took $7 off of her, so I got her for $10. After which I put her in my jacket to "keep her warm while walking to the car". But it was so he wouldn't notice her leg was fine.

Then I noticed the T that had been there for at least 2 months. Last time I was in while I got my MM rosea I told the T maybe next time. Well it was a labeled as a cobalt blue and looks female to me, so I told her I would keep my word and she came home too. Thing is, she looks mostly black, and no blue at all, and I've tried looking at her in different lights, maybe she needs another molt idk. She sure is nasty though, threat posing at lunging at everything. She looked really skinny, and I've never seen a cricket or anything in her deli cup while I was at the store, but always saw them in with the roseas. So I got a couple fat roaches while at the store for her and I gave her one at my friends house, took her about 5 min before she ate it, and when I got her home, I decided to give her another one, and no roach remains in her cage this AM, and she looks much fatter. Also I've read that cobalt's are terrestrial and she went to the top of her enclosure last night and was in a different spot at the top this AM. So I'll have to get pics and see if she really is a cobalt.

I think I need to go to that TAA now.

I think I'm infected with something nasty.

My friend who was holding my rosea called me up and said he couldn't stop thinking about her and he wanted to get one himself and asked if they had anymore. But they only had that one and the "cobalt". So he wanted to know if I knew of any other pet stores who had them and I said I think so, so I called them up and asked if they did, and they did. So he came over and we made the 45 min trip from my house to the pet shop and they had one rosea for $19.99, which he picked up. They also had two mexican red knees, which were $49.99, a skeleton, which was only marked "DO NOT TOUCH", two cobalts for $50.00(the smaller one was sold) and one common pink-toe for $19.99 which ended up coming home with me.

I couldn't get a real good look at the cobalts because they were webbed in with the fake plants they had, but I was able to see clearly on both a blue color. The one I got last night as a cobalt I originally thought was black, But with some sunlight, it's mostly brown. It's about 3+" now and is still on the top of the cage, which isn't set up for an arborial since cobalts aren't supposed to be. Also I've looked several times and no spurs at all. I couldn't get a clear underside shot because she was in the corner of the KK. So I snapped a couple pics and will post them hopefully tomorrow along with the others I took, I need to get my USB cable still and it will take some time getting them all off since my memory card is now full.

EDIT: forgot to mention the pink toe is about 1.5-2"

Was the skeleton tarantula an E. murinus or A. seemanni? If it was the murinus that would be a nice find for a pet store, at least it would be around here. The do not touch sign makes me think it might be a murinus.

I'm glad you and your friend are enjoying the spiders... just so you know there is no cure and soon you will have 100 or more like the rest of us.. ;)

Edit: I am sure someone will be able to help you ID the spider that is climbing if you get a pic. Sometimes spiders will climb around if they aren't used to the substrate. A brown lividum sounds a little strange to me as well.

I'm not sure what kind of skeleton it was, they didn't have it labled with a price or anything, just DO NOT TOUCH, it was black with yellow stripes on the knees. I got the pictures and I'm about to post them here in a new thread. Also she has decided to dig a hole now and must feel better.

Bird my LPS had one last year & I am sure it was a E. murinus. All the shop owner knew was that he bought it as a "striped knee", what they usually call A. seemani. He did'nt have a clue. It was about 4" and priced at $30.00. I tried to buy it but he said it was sold & the guy was coming to pick it up. Missed it by that much :wall: ...maybe next time.
