Hey all, I got an early B-day present last night. When I walked out to my car port to go to work, this beauty was laying right there. Western Daimondback Rattlesnake (Crotalus atrox). I did not even have to go look for it. Snake was captured and released on a quiet dirt road.

Was he a feisty one? I run across pygmies down here and try to help them when I can. Those little dudes think they are about 6' instead of 18"

Anyways, awesome find and great that you got him to safety.

Feisty??????????? It struck at everything, over and over. They are probably the meanest snakes I have come across. Even worse than the Gopher Snakes we have here. But they are FUN! Yeah, I remove all the critters I find on the road to a safer place. There are to many people around here who run them over on purpose

That's what I meant ;-) C.atrox are usually pretty feisty, one of my friends had one that started striking when you were at the bottom of the stairs. Nervous species.

Great personality ;P
