$20 is about what you'd want to pay for a normal. Handle it often. Keep it humid. :) Congrats!

Tip 1: Ask the breeder for ANY questions you may have

Tip 2: Do your research on other snake related forums as well for a wider berth of information

Tip 3: Use the search function

Technically im not getting it today... its more like a week! He'll give me a run down yet of course i always gotta jump tha gun!

@Hamhock: do you have snakes? if so, whos your dealer?
and yeah you're right.. i should of used the search!! I jus gotta find a common snake forum as you've stated and start the terrorizing of other people all over again!.... of couse unintentionally!

If you can swing it, have whoever bred it get it feeding first. Preferably on frozen/thawed. I'd even say it would be worth it to pay an extra $10 or so to have him/her do that. Once feeding, cb balls are eating machines in my experience. Getting them to start can sometimes be tricky though, and if it is your first snake it would really suck to go through the time and stress involved in figuring out how to do so. Also don't forget to provide a humidity box. Young balls need more humidity than most people realize. Good luck with the little guy. They are awesome animals, and just like Ts I doubt you'll be satisfied with just 1 :)

$20 is a great price for a ball python around here, even for a male. Check out the BC Reptile Club forum and Reptiles Canada for some more local herp sites.:)
Just make sure you have your setup ready before you bring the snake home, and that includes heat mat, thermostat (absolutely essential) and digital thermometer.

Hah, I got my first BP not long ago. Love him to death (actually waiting to have him/her sexed.) But I paid $35 which was a hell of a lot better than $80 at the LPS for a normal. I already want to get another in the future. :|
