I was wondering how many people have used this and how?
Does it do ok on rubbermaid containers and glass aquariums?
Where do you apply it, on the bottom or side?
Do you use the aluminum tape to help with the heat transfer?
Does it need some type of thermal regulator with it or is it a straight plug in the wall kind of deal?
At what temps are you getting and in what enclosure are you using it on?
I see it is really cheap compared to other products i have seen so any type of information would be great.

Heat tape

You will definitely need a thermomostat or light dimmer switch to regulate temperatures, otherwise it gets outside manufacturers specified range and can melt tape causing a fire hazard.. I do not think aluminum tape behind cage is really needed for good conductance of heat, but if surface area is not maximized in contact you could "tack" it on to the containers using some electrical tape.. I personally use aquariums for all my larger specimens and therefore just butt them up against the heat tape lining the back wall of shelving unit I made. good luck and if you have any further questions i am sure others can help :).. Overall I think this is an excellent product (you can wire in parallel and have up to 150 feet of heating in multiple shelving units with only ONE cord plugged into the wall and thermomostat if you want.. plus it is efficient and does not use half as much as electricity as heat pads.. I give it a two thumbs up!!

Do you prefer these over ceramic heat emitters?
