Why do you risk the male like that? I'd do controlled matings and wait in between sperm webs to reintroduce the male. Seems like a risky and pricey endeavor leaving him in there... Males tend to be pesky enough to get themselves eaten.

Edit: Assuming you were planning on leaving the male with the female, I kind-of got that vibe.

The female is right at 5" the male is over 7". Being that males usually get eatin by bigger females make me think cohabing them would work well. But I have heard of males eating females before... which would F everything up. I've tried intoducing him before and when he starts tapping, she does as well, but she does so much, it seems to scare him off! :wall: I've seen her run after him shaking, tapping, etc. Hopefully I can see a couple good hook ups, or be able to leave them together long enough for me to think things went well, then send him back to the original owner, or whoever is in line next. ;)

I've mated metallica a few times and in all cases the female have been extremely gentle with the males, no signs of aggression at all. It seems that Po metallica and Po rufilata pairs actually enjoy spending time with each other and often seek to hide together.

They both look gorgeous, good luck with the mating! Shame I live in the UK otherwise I'd be reserving a few of them right now!
