Not surprisingly, thereโ€™s two species being labeled as ๐˜—๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ถ๐˜ด ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ถ๐˜ด (on birdspiders and other websites). One looks like your traditional Ecuadorian Pampho and the other looks like a Peruvian species (more similar to what we know as ๐˜—. ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ด๐˜ช in the hobby, which isnโ€™t the true one). Itโ€™s been a while Iโ€™ve been on here so Iโ€™m unsure if weโ€™re allowed to post links, but I can PM them if needed/interesting.

Was wondering, which one would be the โ€˜realโ€™ one (if anybody knows) and is the โ€˜realโ€™ one even in the hobby? Would love to see what everyone has labeled as a ๐˜—. ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ถ๐˜ด as well.

@c.h.esteban - maybe you would know?

Links to images on other websites are perfectly fine. The rule is to not take an image, or screenshots, from another website and reupload it on this one without the permission of the owner which needs to be stated in the post if given.

Thanks for sharing @8 legged !

Here are the links to the โ€˜otherโ€™ one:

As you can see, theyโ€™re quite different than the ones you normally see in the hobby.

All I can say about this is that my animals had different colors over the course of their moulting.

@antinous
iยดm afraid i cant solve the questions fully.

At the beginning some notes to the species.
SIMON described the species vespertinus just by a single male, which was collected "near" Quito by M. A. Cousin and distinguished it from augusti by the embolus with a lanceolet shape.

Later SCHMIDT "described" a female from the "western lowland" of Ecuador as vespertinus and he show also a picture of the male bulb.

Pamphobeteus sp. from Ecuador (including pet trade)
None of the so called "vespertinus" and also other Pamphobeteus sp. from Ecuador, which i have examine, matches with the bulb of SIMONยดs typ.

Pamphobeteus sp. from PERU (pictures in the links above)
I cant say some something about the specimens at the pictures without any examination.
Other specimens from Peru that was declarated as "P. petersi" (and belongs really into the Pamphobeteus genus) has a very slender embolus also far from SIMONยดs type.

Pamphobeteus sp. identified by SCHMIDT as vespertinus
The matrial that he use was deposit at the SMF.
After a examinition i can also say that the bulb does not match with SIMONยดs type and his drawing is very strange.
