I can't recommend pokies enough. Definitely get a P cambridgei and a P irminia. They are very similar to Poeciletheria in terms of care, and ime more defensive. Not as fast, but very fast when they want to be. Besides that, they are quick growers and beautiful T's.
I wouldn't worry too...
I am eventually wanting several of the Poecilotheria... metallica, regalis, etc. They are just absolutely spectacular!!! I did already "cross the line" into OW. I already got 9 M.balfouri slings for a communal, although I have 1 of them separate on his/her own because he was significantly...
...for everyone.
Here is the list of what you mentioned you have in order of what you wrote, I left out the ones you already use the scientific name for.
Tliltocatl Albopilosus
Psalmopoeus Irminia
PoecilotheriaRegalis
Tliltocatl Kahlenbergi
Chromatopelma Cyaneopubescens
Acanthoscurria...
I agree, I’ve been keeping Avics for a few years now and just started my second year of breeding M6’s they are a fun genera.
Well I’ll be going to NARBC Dallas at the end of the month and if I find a regalis there I might have to pick one up instead of the others. I just have to do some...
Haha.....let me tell you a story about how what we like and think we like can be so different.
When I got into the hobby, I never cared for Avicularia, thought they were boring....I went 15 years telling everyone who asked how little I liked them and how I'd never own one....then a user here...
Poecilotheria....that might be the easiest question ive been asked on AB. Get a regalis.
Great eaters, good growth rates, great appetite, beautiful, predictable, generally surprisingly calm with a tendency to stay visible, especially as they gain size. And readily available.
My thanks is broadcast my friend!
I got 4 new Poecilotheria species today!!! I have two (one male one female) 3” juvie P. rufilata, one 1” P. regalis, and one beautiful 4” P. metallica (f). They all came in from urban tarantulas and they are all in new homes now!

...enclosure and is doing fine (she'll definitely be getting an upgrade next molt though, don't worry). I keep my 8" monster of a Poecilotheriaregalis in a 20x20x40 cm (8x8x16", roughly 4 gallons) lantern enclosure. Those dimensions are less than generic recommendations but tarantulas really...
Got moults today from.
Amazonius Burgessi
PoecilotheriaRegalis
Chilobrachys Sp. Kaeng Krachan
Psalmopoeus Cambridgei and
Pterinochilus Murinis Usambara is actually in the middle of moulting right now.
I recently got my first Poecilotheria spiderlings (Regalis and striata). They are small 0.5 inch and I housed them in a 4x4x5 inch enclocures. Added 1 inch of substrate and a small piece of corkbark. They like to climb walls and ceiling of the enclosure and I see them falling down often. I'm...
Hello everyone, i am posting for the first time. I recently acquired my first Poecilotheria, a Regalis juvenile about 5cm body length from a local breeder. She is pretty stressed since the moving, and she covered her hide all around, blocking herself from the outside world with earth and moss...
I have a Poecilotheriaregalis sling it's a large sling about 3-4 CM. Out quite a lot and a great species. Quite a few of the Poecilotheria species are awesome but I know most people like those so I didn't include them because everyone would say Pokeys which I know are already awesome and out a...
