That's what I'm hoping for. It just appeared after the most recent molt. Otherwise it's eating and behaving totally normal. I guess I should have specified in the title the weird sore is on the T, not me.
No it's not mature, still a juvenile.
Cyst, tumor, abscess--all words used to describe this phenomenon in the tarantula hobby. May be from a prior injury. I haven't seen a definite diagnosis for this health anomaly. The t will either molt out of it or it will prove fatal. Seems to be a problem for older ts.
Nope, premolt there was zero sign of anything of that sort. Like I said, seeing it there just after the molt is what alarmed me. I’m really hoping it’s nothing to really worry about and that will correct itself with the next molt.
All seems fine for now and the little guy is doing his after...
Tiny cyst maybe? Not large enough to be a big deal or a skin hair condition? So it wasn’t there pre molt ??
Abdomen looks like a Disco ball 🪩 in your last picture!! 🤣🤣
Anastasia, my ancient female G. rosea just flipped on her back to molt. Immediately after I bought her several years ago I noticed that she had a cyst/ ulcer on her abdomen. I've been feeding her sparingly to control her weight and it's only gotten slightly bigger over the last 3 years. I'm very...
And to think I just gave up on a t over a possible cyst .. rug burn that it was probably save able in my care I just didn’t have the funds to risk it or gamble. So I returned it for $45 . I wish I had grabbed that s cal . I don’t handle my Ts so anyone who sees this it was an extreme example...
Just keep an eye on it see if it gets worse it’s a minor cyst or a healed injury. The t should be fine though it’s not too big .
Nevermind it was answered after me. :D
Two curly hairs got them both in the last two days . Is this deli cup too small?
I got three but a seemani had a cyst looking thing so I returned it. :(
Thank you so much!
I did search and I was almost always finding parasites stuff and started to get very anxious 😅
I still put her enclosure not with the other one, not even in the same room/floor as my other ones just in case.
You are right, I did not realized about the spinnerett but it is...
...through the ER and our resident Oncologist is whiling away his time doing POD duties reading something. The ER doc had suggested I ask him about cysts. "What is a cyst?" He thinks for a moment then replies, "You should ask Doc J." So looking for an opportune moment when Doc J is just...
...seen similar posts a lot. Mostly from suspected WC pet shop rescues. If you search the threads you will find them.
In general we call this a "cyst", a liquid/haemolymph filled bulge or even just a cyst-shaped deformation of the exoskeleton, usually in the abdominal region.
Its not 100%...
...up when I searched my old threads 🧵… my 3 biggest lasiodoras are around 5-6” and sub adult size they got lot to grow left . The 7-8” one had a cyst and died . I keep my Lasiodoras skinnier now I think it was obesity caused cyst. But no one really knows ..😢
