Unknown New World tarantula possibly from a Guyana.
Yep, but as far as I know, there isn't any Thrixopelma spp. in Guyana, so what other genus could this be?

so in the pic you wrote "possibly" from guyana...now your response seems to indicate it definitely is from guyana....if its possible and you arent sure, guesses from elsewhere should be considered if it matches....no?

No idea I was never good at geography😆 but a quick Google and the only t from there that even slightly looks like him is neostenotarsus sp French Guyana. And even that's not 100%, legs are a different colour but pic I saw was an af maybe he is all blue coz he is male? That's my last guess though found nothing else from there that looked like him. 🤞 you can find out.

No patch of urticating hairs on the abdomen and being from somewhere in South America- "possibly Guyana"- would mean this tarantula would belong to the subfamily Ischnocolinae or Schismathothelinae. The only species from either subfamily known from Guyana, if that is actually where it comes from, would be Holothele longipes (Ischnocolinae), but there is not enough information in the picture to make a definitive identification.

FACT: It came in from a Guyana import mixed in with Theraphosa stirmi (confirmed this today).

More analysis makes me think definitely Ischnocolinae family and the genus Holothele. As for H. longipes, what throws me off is the coloration. The carapace isn't the typical coloration of a H. longipes, but let's see post-molt.

No pattern on the abdomen to be a Guyruita though. Leaning heavily on it being a Holothele sp.
