Thamnophis elegans
Found this garter snake on a hike today - again... I've found this snake in the same spot every year for the last 3 summers (I can tell because it's got some very distinct scars). They're not very long-lived snakes, so this might be the last time, but that's what I thought last year! Lol

It's a very common snake species around here (and most of the western US), but finding the exact some one 3 years in a row is pretty extraordinary!

I could definitely see snake keepers, keeping them as pets… good looking snake. That one was pretty friendly. I haven’t seen a snake here in years. None of their food, sources rats or mice either. I know they’re out there in the woods right now probably.. nearby
 
Gorgeous girl! (I assume her ) but they can live upto 10 years so you may see her again in the future 😊
