Out of curiosity, here's a very unscientific comparison of 0.0.1 Theraphosidae sp. yasumi (1.375" DLS - top 2 pics) and 0.1 Theraphosidae sp. Colombia (1.625" DLS - bottom 2 pics). Many similarities, but obviously different.
That's one I don't have yet, but I do have Davus sp. Colombia, D. sp. Oaxaca, D. sp. mazunte, sp. Panama, ruficeps, and pentaloris (I'm kind of a Davus junkie).
Physically, all of their legs are much more stout and the abdomen are shorter, and overall their setae are thicker (they look more fuzzy). Behaviorally, the Davus are almost exact opposite of these Theraphosidae - they tend to burrow and bulldoze, while the Theraphosidae have made intricate webs up off the ground to hang in. It's super interesting to observe and compare them all!
