I didn't know the Houston area had stick insects. There's a male on her back. When I tried to get her to move she covered my finger with some smelly white liquid. Don't know if it was poison, excrement, or semen from the male, but I hope it was the first one.
When I was in summer camp as a kid, one of the other kids got stung/bitten/whatever in the eye from a stick insect. He ended up losing that eye from an infection that the doctors couldn't get under control.
So, y'know. Don't let her walk on your face. But I'd totally catch her and keep her!
