they are sensitive to light. and movement, and breathing, and vibrations. and basically everything. we have red lights, but use flash for photographs. if use regular headlight they do run away, but this species sticks to the water line to "hide" usually

nice, i always notice them react when i shine my flashlight on them in captivity so i assumed it would bother them even more if they were out in the wild
