This tarantula was sold at a chain pet store as a Veracruz Red Rump (Tlitlocatl kahlenbergi), which doesn't seem right to me...but I'm very new to the hobby. Is it possibly T. verdezi, or something else altogether? Also, if possible, any sexing info would be helpful.
This particular specimen was always out in the open at the pet store. Since purchase, this also holds true. Despite having a nice hide, this one is always out on display.
I'll try to get some better and brighter pictures soon. I was maybe thinking a possible A. anax, but still at a loss. At any rate, I know it's a terrestrial new world most likely from Mexico...lol

You’re right, I meant to say A. anax, not chalcodes, my bad.
If it wasn’t for the lighter colors on the legs my guess would be B. albiceps too, like the other one. But, again, these are all very uncertain guesses.

I'm excited that someone is at least in on the case. I was hardcore all T. verdezi at first, but the more I poke around, the less certainty I have. Definitely appreciate some additional perspectives.

It just seems unusual to me for a chain pet store to have any of the Tliltocatl you mentioned for sale, you know? But hey, who knows.. I’m keeping my guess though.
