Pumpkinhead Isopod [16/??]

I wonder when they day will come when they are actually more viable in the hobby, I am still the only one that has managed to keep them alive and breeding for this long.
What makes these guys so hard to propagate in captivity?
No idea to be honest besides a few hunches, I live at a very high altitude and temperatures here are quite cool, never reaching beyond 26 degrees celsius even on the hottest of day, medium of 16-21 and they are very picky eaters.
