Although it looks male by looking at the "U" shape, it is looking more female to me. I know that does not really make much sence, but I'm saying female.
I'm going to weigh in and say that it looks female to me as well. It's a bit hard with this picture, a close-up of the epigastric furrow would help to identify it better.
