This poor T sat in a crapy pet store I get feeders for my snakes. I've seen this poor spider and a p striata sitting on a back shelf for over a year was 1 .5 inches when they first got there I just bought her 3 days ago as a 3.5 inch posable male but it looks to be a 5 inch maybe bigger female s
Been super well mannered I have snakes that can do a lot worse but she wasn't taken care of very well and poked about every day of its life for a year she has seemed to speed up quite a bit but only during feeding. It normally just stays still when I had to refill water dish and remove some substrate I think she was dehydrated was in a large double door exotera 30% rh and 70° hope she stays well mannered but I'm very cautious if not
Snakes and Ts, not even similar. It's far easier to deal with a snake than a T in some ways IME due to a Ts fragile body. Def. post a pic when you rehouse it, that's too small for husbandry.
You can sex it by taking a hi-res ventral shot, and posting it. Males will have a dot, females won't.
Got to respect anything venomous I'm not the need to handle and fiddle around type just feed and maintenance I been wanting a poecilitherea for couple years this spider was in a huge cage and never moved out of the corner the whole time it was at the store can't wait for the new acrylic enclosure to get here Saturday hope she is as easy transferring her as she was putting her in this enclosed she just walked out with a Lil tap on the foot and onto the wood I had the inclosure inside of a bin in my shower stall lol will do the same when I re house her. Saturday i think I might go grab the mm p striata for $50 also if any one needs one for breeding I would loan him out
@Aaron M I do the same thing, container inside a bin for rehousing. Even for most of my NWs. You never know when a T is going to act differently or catch us off guard. Always keep a few catch cups around too.
Yep I studied up before I jumped in on a old world arboreal she kinda unnerved me how she just sits and does nothing every time I've opened the enclosure I know 1 of these times she gonna bolt she ate a 1 inch dubia the second day I had her and today ate a large cricket she snatched the cricket out of mid air so I'm guessing she is getting healthy or starting to feel better but she moves around a lot more now and webbing stuff up I hope she is healthy just spent $100 on a enclosure for her
